Cuban Style Ropa Vieja (Shredded Beef)

Recipe:

  • 1 lb flank steak (very common to find in your local grocery store)

  • 1 medium onion

  • 2 large cloves of garlic

  • 1/2 bell pepper (color of your choice)

  • 1 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tbs black pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tbs powder chicken base

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2 tbs white distilled vinegar

  • 1 1/2 tbs vegetable oil

 Accompany with fluffy Jasmine rice

  1. Do you just put the steak and seasonings in a pot together? How long do you cook the flank steak? I only see the ingredients and no instructions.

      I apologize for the delay in responding I normally respond right away! You can either boil flank steak in pressure cooker for 15 min or 1 1/2 hours on stovetop. It is very tough meat that is why you have to cook so long on stovetop.
